Chesapeake Dolphin Watch 1.50

Dr. Helen Bailey and her research team at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science's Chesapeake Biological Laboratory are currently investigating the frequency of dolphin sightings in the Chesapeake Bay, the duration of their stay in the area, their specific locations within the Bay, and the reasons behind their presence.

The Chesapeake Dolphin Watch initiative offers an opportunity for citizen scientists to contribute to this research by reporting dolphin sightings in the Bay. Participants are encouraged to indicate the location of the sighting either by pointing it out on a map or by sharing their current coordinates. Describing the number of dolphins observed is also part of the process. Additionally, volunteers have the option to submit photos or videos to further enhance the information available to the research team.
